Let’s try a third look that is a little more commercial in nature.

So let’s go and grab something with a bluish texture.

Selecting Screen Blending Mode gives us a somewhat TV-show-like appearance.

We’ll utilise a layer mask to alter this appearance. To apply a mask to the texture layer, select New Layer Mask from the Layers menu.

A huge soft-edged brush should be used, with the opacity set to 50% and the foreground colour being black. Paint a small circle around the face to lessen the texture there while keeping the Layer mask chosen.

You can see a text of a plain, boring background and adds a bit of visual interest to it.
